Reading Follow-up - Fa'amanu

The Critical Evaluators Reading group read the text Coming Up by David Hill this week 
and had a go at identifying the different cause and effect examples from the text.

Here is Fa'amanu's completed presentation suing examples from the text.

This week for reading I introduced a story called Never Give Up by Sue Gibbison to 2 of my reading groups Vocabulary Detectives and Great Connectors.

Willy Illi's Real Life Hero in Room 10

For Inquiry this term we are investigating heroes - what makes a hero and what qualities and characteristics do we admire in heroes.

Willy, one of our year 8 students, has chosen Miss Aireen as one of his heroes. 

Here is a drawing about a hero I know. I thought a lot about this hero, and it is Ms Aireen, who is, of course, one of my teachers in the Kia Manawanui syndicate. Read the drawing and you'll find out why...
